Luciano Pietronero

Luciano Pietronero is born in 1949 in Italy and is Full Professor at the Physics Department of “Sapienza” University of Rome and Director of “Istituto dei Sistemi Complessi” (ISC) of the National Research Council (CNR). Broad international experience in academic and industrial institutions. Author of about 400 papers. He is coordinator of a national PNR project “Crisis Lab” funded by the Italian Government. He has been coordinator of European network on Fractal Structures and Self-Organisation FMR XCT980183. Chairman of the international conference on Statistical Physics STATPHYS 23 held in 2007 in Genoa (Italy). Expert of statistical physics, many body theories, complex systems and economic complexity. In 2008 he was the recipient of the Enrico Fermi Prize, the highest award of the Italian Physical Society.
